Communiqué commun dont la LDH est signataire
Les exécutions de ressortissants afghans en Iran ont augmenté de façon spectaculaire. En 2024, au moins 80 Afghans ont été exécutés en Iran, soit trois fois plus que l’année précédente. Ces exécutions se déroulent en silence et sans transparence. Seules six des 80 exécutions ont été annoncées par des sources officielles.
Cette tendance s’est poursuivie en 2025, avec au moins 32 ressortissants afghans exécutés au cours des cinq premiers mois de l’année.
La République islamique a démontré qu’elle agit en toute impunité lorsqu’il s’agit d’exécuter les communautés les plus marginalisées et les plus pauvres, dont les exécutions n’ont aucun coût politique.
Compte tenu des circonstances politiques internes en Afghanistan, la République islamique ne se sent pas non plus obligée d’accorder l’accès consulaire aux ressortissants afghans. Si ces exécutions continuent à ne rien coûter à la République islamique, nous craignons que des dizaines d’autres ressortissants afghans soient exécutés dans les mois à venir.
Nous insistons sur le fait que les procédures judiciaires, en particulier celles liées à la peine de mort, ne respectent pas les normes minimales d’un procès équitable et que les aveux sont souvent extorqués sous la torture et la coercition.
En outre, la vague anti-immigration, en particulier le sentiment anti-afghan alimenté par le gouvernement pour détourner l’attention du public de sa mauvaise gestion économique, ouvre la voie à une réduction supplémentaire du coût politique de leur exécution.
Nous, soussignés, appelons toutes les organisations de défense des droits de l’Homme, les militants, les personnalités politiques et le public à exprimer leur opposition à l’exécution de ressortissants afghans par tous les moyens possibles. Nous demandons également à la communauté internationale de prendre les mesures nécessaires pour empêcher que cette tendance ne se poursuive.
